Marshall Family Kalahari Archive

This is a two-year project to digitize and share online a unique archive of Kalahari hunter-gatherers as many of them transitioned to living on a reserve and participating in a cash economy. The extensive archive was created by the Cambridge based Marshall family between 1950-1961 in what is now Namibia.

The project expands the potential use of the records world-wide, especially in Southern Africa. It was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, MA-245387-OMS-20.
