Object Description
Silver yarn winder - belongs with toy loom 30/7162: Miniature yarn winder (distaff), part of set of miniature loom and accessories, a tool traditionally used in the spinning of cotton or camelid fiber. Separate silver alloy metal components are connected by soldered joins:
>tapered staff or pole
>holding device or clamp
>conical "skein" with twist of "cotton" represented by small diameter wire.
Soldered connections probably silver/lead alloy. Technique possibly by depletion gilding.
