Object Description
Bronze fibula, unusual in construction. Foot bends back to join with navicular bow. Bow is cast with chevrons and a jagged edge. The ornament at the end of the foot is zoomorphic, resembling the head of a water fowl. The long crossbow spring intertwines with the base of the bow, and has an iron core. Found with a similar object (40-77-40/12198). 8 x 5.7 x 3.9 cm.
