Small double-headed tension drum
Descriptions
Object Description
Small drum with two heads at opposite ends. The stretched skin heads are held by hemp or raffia cordage strung end-to-end over the barrel of the drum. A belt of rawhide is what gives tension to the skins as the belt is tied tightly around the strings. A skin/hair strap is secured at the top and bottom. The barrel of the drum is carved and hollowed wood.
