Object Description
Yellow corn. Witchita Yellow. Ear of corn arrived wrapped securely in polyethlene bag. Two labels placed in bag with ear of corn: white paper with pencil inscription : "Witchita Yellow. Very rare per Dr. Garrison Wilkes 9/13/91. Botanist - U/Mass/Boston.". A green paper label attached directly to body od ear with cotton string (Oscar H. Will & Co., Bismarck, N. D.) written in ink "Witchita Yellow". In addition to ear of corn, 3 loose kernels were in box, and a glass jar (with accession/catalog # 35-7-10/4445 written in orange paint on top of jar) with loose white/yellow powder enclosed, and two paper labels inscribed in pencil "Mandan".
