Object Description
Fish spear, upper portion. Single point for spearing fish through the side from the shore or beach. Single points were used chiefly in shallow water and double points in deeper water, The tip is of antler wrapped with Indian hemp twine and the string is of the same. Point of handle is seated in base of [ ]. Handle of fir wood. Had long handles (for deep wate) and stout braided strings.Some of these spears were made more carefully than this one.
