Indigenous Term Ula
Object Description Wood club - ula, with bulbous head carved from root mass of sapling into gadrooned element with seven lobes. Handle grip carved with zigzag vertical bands and upper shaft transversely cut with nineteen irregular parallel notches. Shaft marked with earlier catalogue numbers: in ink 688/30 and incised 2229. Large vertical fissure in one lobe of striking section. Covered with varnish or other non-indigenous coating.
