Object Description Conch shells (strombus gigas). This is part of a collection of material from the Campbell wampum factoy which was a major producer of European made wampum beads. The collection is extremely important since it shows all of the various stages of wampum production from the shell right up to the finished bead. The Campbell materials are hence very important to the study of European wampum manufacture in the Northeast.
