Descriptions
Object Description
Pair of arm bands of carved/incised bone or possibly antler. One of the two is more detailed in its incised rectilinear decoration, with hatching, cross-hatching and zig-zag motifs. Both have dark brown pigment rubbed into the incised areas. Both are tied off with hide thong strung with blue, black and red glass beads. One of the armbands has three holes bored at each terminus. It is tied off at these holes with hide thong. A remnant of sinew remains as a native repair where a corner of the bone broke off adjacent to a hole.
Surfaces are worked to a smooth finish, especially on the interior where surface is polished from historic use.
