Object Description
Set of nine lightweight metal folklore objects of varying sizes and open backs. Depicting varying figures of "The Eight Taoist Immortals". The two largest figures (a-b) depict the God of Wisdom, identifiable by his large, protruding head representing the knowledge acquired over the years. He holds the ju-i scepter. The other seven are of the same size and depict various others of the immortals in Chinese Taoist folklore (c-i). They are used on children's hats. (a) 7.7 cm. (?) x 6.3 cm. (?) x 4.4 cm. (?); (b) 6.2 cm. (?) x 5.6 cm. (?) x 2 cm. (?); (c-i) each: 4.7 cm. (?) x 3 cm. (?) x 1.5 cm. (?).
