Object Description
Palm-leaf printing form (fish) for tapa cloth.
A fish shaped design tablet made of leaf strips and coconut-leaflet midribs. The object's construction consists of two layers, rear foundation of pandanus leaf with hibiscus leaf stitching and on face side coconut leaf mid-ribs with coconut husk (sennit) fiber stitching; mid-ribs provide raised regions for use in printing. Curved lines decorate the tablet.
Identifying numbers: A Peabody catalogue number in red has been applied onto the surface of the verso.
