Descriptions
Object Description Knife sheath. One of the earliest examples of a parfleche (bison rawhide) container. The front of the sheath is incised with pronged, elongated triangular forms; the top displays bands of porcupine and bird quillwork. Numerous tinklers, mostly tin, one copper. Stitched edge of sheath has "keyhole"-shaped cutout.
