Object Description Written on board: "Pawnee Indians (Caddoan) / Pawnee Lodge, See Jackson's Album. Both by William H. Jackson ca 1868-9 -R. Rudisill Oct. 23, 1979. / [verso] Note: Although these are platinum prints, there is discoloration, probably due to adhesive. re H5935 - See plate on p. 80 of Clarence S. Jackson: Picture Maker of the Old West - Wm. H. Jackson. Scribners 1947. See also Bushnell Coll. x387- WHJ's painting dated 1924 made from an albumen print also in the Bushnell Coll.; 385a- letter from WHJ to David Bushnell dated May, 5, 1924 referring to the above mentioned oil painting. The letter refers to a studio portrait photo of WHJ which WHJ sent to Bushnell (9 1/2x 6" three-quarters standing, wearing overcoat & holding gloves- (Dan Jones, Oct. 1980)"
