Object Description
Written on board: Ojibwa Indians (Algonquian) Hole-in-the-day. Charles A. Zimmerman, Photographer, St. Paul, Minn. 9529. The most intelligent and influential chief of the Chippewas nation - a statesman, diplomatist and war chief - the bravest of the brave - a gentleman in deportment, and commanded more respect among the white people than any other Indian & had more power among his race. He was way laine & killed by three young Chippewas some years ago. D.A. Robertson. (1825-1868)
