Object Description
Tripod carved bowl with animal-head feet. Polished pecan brown. Two long panels that encircle wall save for 2.3 centimeter wide bars which, with a 1 centimeter band about base of wall are slipped with greenish white, polished. The panels, fairly heavily weathered, appear to have been stamped rather than carved, but if so were done with different stamps. Each panel has seated human figure, small, in center and elaborate serpent (?) derived embellishments filling rest of panels. Feet mold-made of grinning dug-head type. Long vertical slit in back of each. Single (?) pellet. Diameter lip to lip 26; total height 8.3. Flat base 19 centimeters. Said to be from Alta Verapaz.
