Written on board: "Tagalog of Batangas / 28-e 3 / Philippine "egg-plant" For some reason, empty egg-shells are quite commonly used in the gardens of civilized natives, being placed upon the ends of the leaves of certain plants - presumably for ornamental purposes. Picture taken in Tanauan in the province of Batangas / Tagalogs of the Province of Batangas / Gift of / W. C. Forbes, 1912"
