Written on board: "Navajo Indians (Athapascan); An old [women's] (Navajo) dress, also very rare made in black with very handsome red border, double and worn under like the 2 boards of a sandwich man (a handy enough simile) Mr. W's dining room is hung with these, very effective. HHE; Gift of A.M. Tozzer 1916."
