Written on board: "Ohio. Fosters, Little Miami Valley. / Peabody Museum of American Archaeology and Ethnology, Harvard University, Cambridge, Mass. / North bank of ancient work on hill. After removal of burnt clay covering wall of stones, and pile of cinders. The shovel in trench in right lower corner shows depth of burnt clay below the pile of cinders. / [verso] M.H.
