Written on board: "Thompson Indians (Salishan) / Upper Thompson R. woman in costume, Spences Bridge 1914. / Collected by J. A. Teit - 1913 and 1914."; From Tepper, 1987: "XaxalExkEn in Costume / J.A. Teit 1914 / Three quarter profile, three quarter length view Costume: two / piece dress of caribou skin open underarms, ties at sides of neck. / Rounded loose bibs front and back. Lapels of solid beadwork over / shoulders. Bibs and skirt ornamented with beadwork, quill work and / painting. Beaded leggings and moccasins, beaded buckskin cap and / beaded throat necklace. Hair loose in front."
