Object Description Written on board: "Hopi- Shoshonean / Chief Tawaqwaptiwa, leader of the "Progressive" faction in the split at Oraibi, Arizona, in 1906, which resulted in the founding of the Hotevilla and Bacaki on Third Mesa. (note the fox pelt with red ribbon streamers attached airing in the sun. Such pelts are worn as the "tails" of their costumes by the Katchina dancers)"
