Object Description
Narrated educational video about Mayan civilization glorifying their culture and accomplishments. Description of ruins at various Mayan ruin sites concentrating on footage of architecture and artifacts both at ruin sites or artifacts with neutral background, explanation using figures of Mayan counting system, transition to discussion of modern day descendants of Mayan in highlands. Footage with descriptions of their "primative" way of life: crafts, ceremonies. Another group of descendants, the Lacadones who live in small villages in the forest and their "stone age" culture, concentrating on their religion b/c they worship at mayan ruins. Film makes assumptions about modern day Mayan descendants, and uses these to make implications about Mayan civilization. (continued in text entries)
