Object Description Written on board: Mexico, Yucatan, Chichen Itza. Excavation of Great Mound. The pick in the photo shows the commencement of the sealed stairway leading upward. The inclined ceilings in the rear were once supported by a single column attached to an immense wall. The splashes of black are the remains of a broad black band of pigment. Thompson, 1903. Str. 3D9
