Object Description
Written on board: Four of these slate tablets were found fastened to a garment taken from a mummy, Valley of Santa, near Chimbote, Peru. These two are in collection of Madam Tweddle, Plainfield, N.J. "The others were taken by a German who went shares(?) on the find" Borrowed of Mr. H. Teddle for study on photographing, July 24, 1898. / The tablets are of a light grey slate, lines well cut & filled with a dark pigment. Blue stones set in eyes of men on upper tablet (lost in lower) / F.W. Putnam
