Object Description
Bandolier bag. Large, flat, and square with long wide shoulder strap. Multicolor beaded floral designs on white beaded background on strap and pocket. Bag has white and multicolor beaded design on black velvet. Plain woven beige cloth lining. Beige textured cloth on back. Red, gold, and green tassels. Bag: 52 x 37.8 cm. (length x width). Strap: 124 x 14.4 cm. (length x width). Bandelier bags often used to carry medicines and the designs tell a story-sometimes the recipe of the medicine. Depicts maple leaves. Possibly used by medicine man to carry sacred items. Also worn in dancing. These bags are only seen on special occassions. Made for sale?
