Object Description
Tailored winter coat. Caribou with fur lining. Decorated in a double-curved motif along outside edge, using bone stencil and red, yellow, and blue pigment. Skeletal motif of simple parallel lines along sleeves, sides, and back plaits. Small fringe collar is attached. Braided cotton loop closures and commercial shell buttons (probably later additions to original coat). "Belonged to a Canadian Indian Princess." 101 x 45.5 cm. (length x inseam)
