Object Description
Blackfoot ceremonial headdress. Cap w/ 2 horns covered w/ cloth and decorated w/ brass tacks, brass bells & ribbon. Cap of hide lined w/ cloth. Brow band of beads in white & black interlocking triangles. Top covered w/ ermine. Long tubes of ermine, cloth strips & ribbon hang off back. 59.3x37.1 cm. On visual inspection the base of the cap may be human scalp tissue covered with short hair that appears to have been cut.
