Object Description Written on album page: "The "Sud" / As we go south from Malakal, we enter this vast papyrus swamp, / through which the main channel of the Nile winds. The swamp water, / I was told, are simply the spread out waters of the river. The / papyrus stand as high as 10 feet, on rough judgement; the stem istriangular / and say an inch or two through; the head has a diameter of a foot or two."
