Descriptions
Object Description
Written on album page: "Pygmies dancing. The Pygmies, who wander about in the deep forest, and / dislike coming forth into open country because of the discomforting sun, gathered at / Gombari, at the request of the local Belgian official, who had won their confidence, / and danced for the white man's edification. They enjoy both dancing and admiration. The hut in the background was made (under European direction, of course) / of bricks fashioned from the red clayed-earth of the vicinity."
