Object Description Written on album page: "Massa woman near the village of Mogrom. The ring on her head is made of grass, and is used in carrying pots. Legend has it that the custom of distending the lips was initiated to discourage robbers from the desert who kidnapped beauties for the harems of Moslem sultans."
