Descriptions
Object Description Ceremonial raven belt ornament or bustle, also called "the crow." Made from the skin of a single raven. Although the carcass appears to be a complete birds, it includes only the wings (stuffed with semi-tanned hide and plant fiber) and the head and beak (tucked to the inside against the primary waist support). A construction of wooden slats, porcupine quills, rawhide, and horsehair makes the wings and tail project outward from the wearer’s back.
