Written in pencil on board (verso): "55-104-7 / A !Kung girl, !Nai. / The ornaments on the back of the head are made / of ostrich egg shell beads. The rectangular / ones, the !Kung say, are male ornaments; / the triangular ones, on the front of the / head, are female. The circular ones, made / of copper beads obtained in trade with / the Tswana, are just for beauty, we were told. / The saf[e]ty pin was ours and was aked / for as a gift. / Cf. 55-104-10"
