Written in pencil on board (verso): "A !Kung Bushman werf. In this instance the / whole band is not shown. What the photo does / show is the spacing of two of the family / fires, which is typical. Note to the rear on / the right the frame work of a scherm without / grass covering it. It seems to orient the / family more than to shelter it."
