Object Description
Sling of red, white and black wool; wrapped technique, unfinished at one end: Headband or sling; central slit section weft-faced plainweave w/black camelid weft (s) on thick warps. Six warps in center merge to single warp at either end. Edges covered w/weft wrapping (or embroidery) on yarns stitched in spiral along edge. Wrapping continues at either end, covering cotton yarns wrapped spirally the bundle of warps. Bold diamond design in black, gold, red, pink camelid (z-2s). Beyond, braids in banded red, white pattern. 1 end red/white plied yarns become long tassel.
