Object Description
Fragmentary bronze crossbow fibula of Middle La Tene character. Foot bends back to grasp bow, which widens into a kite-shaped plate decorated w/ incised lines. Foot contains a knob decorated w/ dot-and-circle designs and 2 triangular impressions, 1 filled w/ red substance, 1 w/ an orange substance. Both probably enamel. 2 rivets in the bow suggest that it was repaired in antiquity. 7.5x3.5x3 cm.
