Indigenous Term Tapa or Kapa
Object Description Kapa. A finely beaten, thin, crisp, kapa cloth of medium reddish-brown and lighter tan beaten inner bark fibers with beater markings. The fibers may be a combination of mamaki (Pipturus albidus) and paper mulberry (Broussonetia papyrifera). Additional notes under conservation.
