Object Description Comanche shield. Round rawhide base which is convex to a point. Remnants of painted designs. Backed w/ beaver skins. Stuffed w/ mountain sheep hair. Wide strip of bison hide around edge. Some painted designs on beaver skins as well. 95x56.4 cm. Most likely made during the transitional period. Medicine inside the shield.
