Object Description
Slit tapestry textile. Rows of waves and double-headed birds woven in eccentric slit tapestry: magenta, pink, tan camelid, and white cotton outlined in brown camelid on tan camelid ground. Between rows of birds are bands of tan, gold and magenta weft-faced plainweave. At one end warps are cut and stitched back into the cloth. Two warp, two weft selvages. Warp: cotton, (z-2s), 7 epcm. Weft: camelid, (z), 40 epcm.; camelid, (z-2s), 40 epcm.
