Object Description
Stepped corner in slit tapestry with rows of profile birds with elaborate head feathers, enclosed in a border of smaller flying birds. Across the bottom an additional border with step and wave motif. Weave is slit tapestry, and wefts are red, lavender, pink, ochre, black, and white on gold ground and cotton (z-2s). Warp: cotton, (z-2s), 8 epcm. Weft: cotton, (z-2s), 38 epcm; camelid, (z), 38 epcm; camelid, (z-2s), 38 epcm.
