Object Description
Large bronze shield fibula. Bow is solid, leech-shaped w/ dorsal ridges. The foot bends back to join a large shield-shaped disk, which is joined on the other side to the bow. Shield is elaborately decorated w/ filligree. From the edge are bands of a "twisted rope" pattern; zigzag pattern; tangential cords & large spiral. Top and each junction point seems to have been set w/ a loop. 12 x 6 x 3.7 cm
