Object Description
Five bands whip-stitched together into larger composition of Horizontal bands. Most prominent design elements are 2 (5 cm., width) Horizontal bands of three-color complementary weft patterning of profile pelicans in type of serrated guilloche. Wefts float on "wrong" side of fabric between the areas where they interlace with the warp to form pattern and background; this patterningbordered by bands of weft-faced plainweave alternating in color, brown-blue-brown. Two additional bands of brown weft-faced plainweave attached on their side selvages and one row of tab fringe. Warp: natural cotton.
