Object Description
Man's brimless cap with ivory pin and blue feathers, woven/plaited from undyed plant fiber, possibly palm leaf. The bottom edge formed by bi-fold creases to form the rim, is of a tighter weave than the rest of the cap. The rim edge is finished with decorative diamond-shaped plaiting. A bundle of blue feathers is tied to the crown of the cap and drapes over the sides; a hole perforates the hat on one side for the ivory pin accessory.
Ivory pin: 29.0 cmL x 5.0 cm diam @ base
The pin is oval at the base and gradually tapers with a bend to the tip.
