Object Description Kuba Mboom (Bwoom) mask. Massive black stained wood head mask, etched with diamond pattern. large ears and features.copper overlaid exaggerated forehead, nose, cheeks, and mouth. multi rows of blue beads wrap front of mask over eyes and design forehead. multi- colored beads and cowerie shells frame mask indesigns on front and around back on rafia cloth. nut shells hang as fringe with flaps of rafia cloth covered with leather and fur. black. brown and yellow fur (colobus monkey) for hair. len. 3.5 cm. wid. 27.8 cm.
Inventory Description Mask, helmet style, open at neck, stylized human face, carved wood, incised cross-hatch design in wood, punctate copper overlay highlights facial features, carved wooden ears, variously colored bead decorations, cowrie shell decorations, hide and dark fur at crown of head, hanging decorations of dark seeds along lower edge of face, three woven fiber and hide decorations extend from lower edge of face, one with fur and beads, two with black and white geometric design
