Object Description
Very rare and antique "campanillas" with leather costume and 11 bells suspended by leather thongs, worn over the back and danced in the festival of San Juan to ward off evil spirits; worn by ceremonial dancers and preists in rituals dating from pre-columbian times. the bells are donated by rich members of the village. This example is more than 5 generations old of antonia quishoe toapanta family. 12' x 30" 73 cm along leather.
