Wool blanket of the Chilkat type with animal designs--warp is cedar bark covered with mountain goat wool--weft is same wool--yellow dye is wolf moss, green is copper and black is hemlock bark soaked in urine--woven by women who follow painted pattern. Center design is seated bear with cubs or Sea Monster--side panels are seated ravens. though damaged, this blanket is outstanding for fineness of weave, beauty of color and perfection of work. Sea Monster.
