Object Description Wooden hat box (a) with lid (b), round. String pierced through lid and box keeps both parts attached. Inscription on bottom of box in black ink: "Wong sends this child's hat to "Miss Laura's Baby" - to complete the suit of clothes that he sent in last bunch (?) - July 3rd 1904." Multicolored child's silk hat (c) in box with elaborate decoration. Includes an embroidered silk band, applique work: silk butterflies, metallic dragons, small mirror with elaborate frame, glass beads, silk pompoms on springs, multicolored tassels, and black silk fringe "hair" mostly on back (much of which has fallen off). <transliteration> (Chinese name for box) and <transliteration> (Chinese name for hat). Box: 29.3 cm. (h) x 23.5 cm. (diameter); hat: 17 cm. (h) x 24 cm. (?) x 17 cm. (?).
