Object Description
Part of a set of a child's clothes: red embroidered hood with ribbon ties. Decorative motifs of peonies, butterfly, and peaches - the peach symbolized long life. Trimming done in satin stitching (with voiding), fern, and stem stitching. Trimming also at the ends of ribbon ties with decorative motifs of the endless knot and peony. * The set was given by Wang Wen Shao (Grand Secretary) for Sarah Buchan Jewell. <transliteration> (Chinese name). 48 cm.
