Object Description
Part of a set of a child's clothes: red embroidered bib of cotton gauche (backing) and synthetic material. Silk thread embroidery in satin stitch. Top band of embroidery has black satin stitch backing with butterfly and flower motif. Second trim of satin stitching (two differing shades of purple) have the "SHOU" character of "longevity". At the center and trimming the three lower corners of the diamond shape is chain-stitching. Red silk tassel. Metal chain for attachment. * The set was given by Wang Wen Shao (Grand Secretary) for Sarah Buchan Jewell. 40 cm. (w) x 33 cm. (?).
