Descriptions
Object Description Sally bag, "Honor the 1805 Wasco Weaver"; woven in traditional full-turn twine technique, with 210 warps of Hungarian hemp; two wefts, of split cattail leaves and black dyed raffia. The base is twined for two inches with dogbane bark (similar to the 1805 basket). The design of faces appears uniform, but faces vary in hair, a smile, a wink, and a whistle. The 2 dogs correspond to the column of dogs in the 1805 basket. The makers initials, PCG, are worked into the design.
