Photograph of Brigadier General William H. Bisbee, seated; inscribed "For Mr. and Mrs. Latimer W. Ballou with greetings of love and good wishes on his ninety first anniversary, Sincerely, William H. Bisbee, Brig. Genl, U. S. Army, January 28th 1931"; also written on back, "I think I was told that General Bisbee was sent to find Custer after the attack in which Custer was wiped out - and that the Indian Club and other paraphernalia which I have (from grandfather Latimer Ballou) were brought back by Bisbee. Bisbee may have been a relation? Putnam Ballou McDowell July 8, 1969". Signed on front by photographer "Marceau".
