Object Description Written on board: "Utah. (Grand Gulch) / Cliff Mummies. No 334(?) F. S. Balster. Durango. / Mr. Wetherill, (John), of Kayenta, Arizona says that the mummies were found in Grand Gulch, there were nine in this burial and the tall one was one they called Old Cut-in-Two. There was one of the finest medicine bags found with this that he had ever seen. They had to tear down about 2 ft. of cliff home wall to get to the burial. (over) as it had been built after the burial had been made. / Gift of Geo. W. Hammond. Boston Mass. in 1897. / P.M. Photograph 49850."
